Understanding energies is the first step to really understanding the twin flame concept.
Energy, despite what is said, is neither male nor female. It can be a masculine energy or a feminine energy. However, they don’t belong necessarily to a male or a female. An assigned female at birth, can have a masculine energy, and vice versa. Ultimately, a twin flame is two halves of the same soul, and this is neither male nor female.
When energy is talked about as being Divine Masculine, or Divine Feminine, it is the energy that is being read, not the human.
Therefore, if the Divine Masculine is talked about in terms of being purely Male and of male behaviours, this is incorrect. Again, vice versa for Divine Feminine.
